Strange night at Frosties for the Men for all Seasons and Pumped up Downunder
calendar launch. I arrived at about 10.30 and it was about 85% girls. A few of
them were the types that just want a ticket to the Brownlow Ball, but most of
the others were pretty normal. It was very busy, almost full until about 12.30
or so.

First visit to Frosties on Sunday for a while, and it was a big one. Some of the
touring car teams were there after the race at Calder.
Warmish night, perfect for the Chapel St walk, perfect for Frosties, and heaps
of people made the most of it.
Beyond Belief were awesome (some things never change), and Tommy and Andrew got
things going.
I hope Frosties Sunday is big over summer again. There was nothing better than
two summers back, when it was the perfect place to be on Sunday.

Beyond Belief are back and Andrew DeSilva & Tommy Rando now play unplugged (27.9.02).

Frostbites is a great Sunday night place to go. Granted, it was better in Summer a couple of years ago, but it still has a lot to offer. The beauty of Summer and Chapel St, is that you can roam the street, and drop in to any venue you like. There are a couple of beer-gardens and a bit of variety.

Sundays at Frostbites now features fun coverband Crazy Haus. This is a good drawcard, and will hopefully draw back the crowd that used to go for Beyond Belief. They play a few fun sets, with heaps of variety, but a focus on popular classics, and current.

Between sets, a good DJ plays more top 40 dance, and classics. Good music for a good crowd, much like Frostbites' other nights.

The crowd is mainly 20-25, with a few older. During holidays it gets a touch younger, but the quality remains. The best thing about Frosties, is that you get a good quality crowd. It is not a place for druggos, steroid heads, try hards, and pretentious losers. It is a place for everyday people, who put a bit of effort into the way they dress and behave. You never see fights at Frostbites, because the people are decent.

It gets busy fairly early on. People come in after dinner at one of the local restaurants, with most arriving before 10.30. It probably peaks at about midnight, but it varies greatly by the time of year. Queens Birthday saw a full house at 9.30, yet this visit, the place was not full. It was popular, but not packed. However, the crowd has grown since Crazy Haus joined the party.

The venue itself is four areas. Upstairs is a viewing deck and function room, which opens as a bar. Downstairs is the main bar area, and dance room. Some would say the famous alcoholic slurpies, only available at the main bar, are the highlight of the place.

Prices are great for a Sunday. Entry is free, and drinks are okay. No complaints here.

Frostbites is always a good night out, and Sunday is no different. Get there early, enjoy a good, entertaining band, and have a few alcoholic slurpies with your friends.
