I wandered on in to Billboards on Saturday. Its going great!
Big crowd, good looking audience, well dressed, great commercial tunes, nice
atmosphere. Its all good.
The age of the crowd is diverse. It seems younger than it once was, but I didn't
feel old either.
The music is great. They're playing top commercial house, with some favourites
thrown in.
If you want an example of world quality clubbing in Melbourne, this is one to

have a regular clientele from the below mentioned suburbs, but since the change
in promotions team 3 months ago it has become alot more diverse, with people
from all over the place coming down to check it out. My personal opinion and the
opinions expressed to me by numerous patrons is the crowd has become ALOT better
since the change. Ie alot more friendly... So each to their own. People make the
party so if you dont like a certain club, take your business somewhere else. If
you do like a club, enjoy it... Everyone just needs to chillax a little.

Went to Billboards the weekend before last for the first time in about six
years. Its a great night on a Saturday; great club.
The venue is one of the best around. Good size, and the layered design lets you
see most of the venue, or you can sneak off into the side rooms.
Good looking crowd. I expected it to be snobby and pretentious, but its not,
although its funny how the guys seem to have spent as much time looking through

Music is good. Very commercial. Lots of favourites and current house tunes.
Great atmosphere.
Had a much better night there than I expected. The crowd was really good. Not
pretentious, but attractive and comfortable. No bogans; they don't get in.
Definitely worth a look.

far as quantity (the first time I've been able to see the floor during peak

This place just cant seem to stop controversy. We all know its hard to get in
to, so if you want to go there, get there before 11 and dress in your best, be
nice to the girl on the door, she really is a sweetie if your nice to her and
stop whinging as they cater for a well dressed slightly older crowd (21ish +)
and hey if you dont fit in to these categories go to twister or marquee or
frostbites, same music and atmosphere but slightly less strict door policy. It
is a place for posers, footballers and tarts trying to bag themselves a
footballer, its a well known fact but that doesnt mean you cant have fun there
just stop whinging!!! If you know what its like and dont like it dont go, there
are plenty of as good or better (depending what your into) places in melbourne
that will cater for anyone who cant get in to BB's or dont want to!!!

my friend and i went and waited in line for about 5\15 mins and then were asked
for id's so we showed our licences.the door wasnt letting any guys under 21
in,and 5 people came up beside us and knew the owner,he wouldnt let the guys in
coz they were under 21 but the girls he did.then 5 mins after that teh door
said they were only letting their friends in!!!what a tightarse scumbag!!!if
they only wanted to let their friends in they why open the club to the public!!!
i can say that we are never going back there again they are soo picky!!!

Stop hanging on this place....it's great! Yeah, the door staff can be harsh but
it's for a reason. You hardly ever see a fight in there, unlike most other
clubs! The guys are absolutely devine. If you don't get in go somewhere else,
half the time it's because they overhear you whinging and complaining out the
front of the club or see you doing something they may not like. After all

I have a problem with billboards..... what is with the door staff,
discriminating against 18 yr olds??? I went there a cpl of weeks ago, and
overheard the bouncer talking to a couple of ppl before us, who were well
dressed, not acting stupid, drunk or anything, in fact probably acting alot more
respectable than the majority of the other patrons,,,, and to qoute the bouncer
they were asked " how old are you guys" when theyreplied wit 18, the
doorman,said "what is this.... does it look like Im running a fricken creche?"
just a quick note..... the last time I checked the legal age was 18 and up, so
get off your high horse billboards!! Just to let you know... I am 22 yrs old, so
I am not running a young campaign, but I do believe everyone deserves the same
amount of respect irespective of age!!!!!!

Damo... This is just my personal opinion, but I think that Billboards is
sooooooo overated, It is not a bad place to head for a few drinks, however I
reallly, really dont think that its worth the fuss half the time, Ive been quite
a few times and every time have gotten in straigh away, although I think that
with billboards it is highly dependent on what you look like, which is fine if
you arent dressed appropriately, however I have found that billboards has issues
with the so called less attractive ppl!!! Ive stopped going there now, because
the door staff and most of the patrons are superficial... alot of them just
looking to score with a footy player!!! Well thats just my experience anyways :)

When i first started going i had a couple of issues getting in but after a few
weeks the guyson the door would recognise us and let us straight in. Now me and
my mates can turn up whenever we want and Dale will generally let us straight in
very politely too. I can't beleive people think it is an ugly crowd, by far the
best looking crowd i have seen every week. And it doesn't seem to matter how
many people they turn down early in the night it is always chockas by 12. Best

Hi Guys! I thought I should drop by and address some of the comments about
Saturdays@Billboard. We regularly experience a Full house from about 11.30pm,
which makes it impossible to cater to EVERYONE that presents themselves for
admission...so, we admit those that we recognise & have supported us as regulars
prior to the overwhelming success of the night - simply because we can't fit
everyone in. Our crowd is very mixed (race/age/attire/etc) as we deem wearing a
smile & a good attitude to be much more important than other crieria used for
assessing patrons. Please don't take a rejection by door staff as a personal
insult, it's certainly not meant that way. In defence of our door policies; we
very rarely have any trouble inside the venue & it's great to see so many people
just out to have a great time every Saturday - Thank you all for your support!!

My friends and i waited in line for about an hour to get into billboards. When
we got to the door a group of girls in front of us were refused entry because
they weren't dressed up enough. Then the orange cowgirl on the door refused me
and my very presentable looking friends entry becase she was "only letting in

Can you believe it - Ive been a regular for 4 months straight now, had to wait
in line 4 an hour when i got there at 11 and its always only half full at that
time. So thats 2 chicks, who hadnt been drinking, dressed in skin tight jeans
and halter neck tops, very polite to that cow girl and shes like "sorry were
full tonight girls, if you wanna go home and get changed maybe i can let you in"
What a joke! What does she expect us to wear? Lots of hot gals n boys there tho,

good club and if you get to know them and the staff including the door(b***h)
girl you would realise they're great people only doing their job... and that job

Anyway does anyone know what the attraction for this place is? I mean honestly
not trying to be an ass but it really is a superficial crowd! I have no problem
getting in, but its not worth it once your in there! They only keep people
waiting outside to make the joint look good, trust me I'm mates with one of the
security, ask them and they will tell you straight out thats the reason. Dont

and I can guarantee you the reason they go there is not to see good looking
gals( nor becuase it is a classy place) , its because they know that without a

with your car, money or status, but has no depth. Long term, being shallow will

Personally, I'm not much of a celebrity, but have never had any trouble getting
into Billboards. Generally what I will do is call Billboards and have myself and
friends added to the guestlist, its too easy. Anyway, the only reason I go is to
dance and have some drinks, theres not much depth or intelligence to many of the
women I've met there (i suppose I cant generalize though). Thats probably the
only downside, a superficial crowd, thats why for me Billboards is a once a
month place.

This place has to have the most consistently good looking crowd I've seen in
Melbourne clubs. I'm a model, but don't even stand out because of the other
talent..... heaps more girls than guys, and every second guy iseems to be an
AFL, NRL, NBL player or celebrity of some kind. It's hard to get into until
they know you, but now it's the best! AND they won't let young guys in under 21
unless they know the owners - finally a club with NO little boys trying to fight
& NO little boys throwing up everywhere while they try to figure out how to
handle their alcohol, See you Saturday!!

Bec... I absolutely agree with you!!!! I went last saturday,got there at 1 so
fair enough had to wait in line, but the door staff are the most arrogant ppl
I've ever met! Who do they think they are? Nothing against normal door staff but
these guys act like they work at the most exclusive venue in melbourne! You
wish! none of them would give you a job!! Being exclusive is fine but the ppl
they let in before us(who waited in line) were off there nuts!! Its ridiculous,
and what are we paying entry for? To be cramped in with arrogant, not too
mention ugly guys and to listen to crap music?Not for me thanks, try somewhere
half decent like Bliss lounge!! Friendly door staff and the crowd goes off! Not
too mention some yummy boys.

Tried it and it has to be the worst venue in melbourne on a saturday night!
Shocking door staff make you wait for ages, then finally decide to let you
in...cowgirl hat has got to stay away if they want people in that place! She'd
turn anyone off. Music sucks...old, sleezy, ugly crowd. No thanks!!!

There was a new door chick on Saturday nite at billboards, her attitude was an
absolute disgrace, she made the previous door chick,(the cowgirl one) look like
the best door chick ever. I never had a problem with getting in there before
with the cowgirl one, but this new one was shocking, she was turning back every1
at 11pm, and I only had 2 friends with me, if it was 6 guys, then fair enuff,
but I think 3 is acceptable 2 get in. After speaking to the manager, me and my
friends were let in. The sad part about it all the blonde door chick was
sleazing on to some of the AFL players at about 4am., after she had obviously
knocked off work.

the cow on the door definately suits her hat, she left people standing there for
hours just to make the club look good, but in reality its one of the worst
places I've ever been. She is only matched by the bald guy who thinks he is top
in the world. Guess what, you only own a night club.. your no one important who
is going to change the world. the attitude and racist approach to european and
asian people is shocking. Give this one a miss and find somewhere worth spending
your money.

Leave the place alone guys! Danny & Dale have done a great job starting up their
own night again and should be commended! It's a great club - sometimes the music
isn't the greatest - where you can drink and run a muck with ur mates. Get in
the good books with the door chick, she's quite nice if ur nice in return.

Turned up to billboard to find that shocking cowboy hat girl that used to harass
everyone at spy lounge on the door. She was giving everyone attitude. It spoiled
our night before it began. We were given free drinkcards inside (don't know why)
but wont go back with her there.
